This seminar, offered by the Faculty and Staff Assistance Program (FSAP) in partnership with the Center for Complementary and Integrative Medicine, will cover guidelines for incorporating an exercise routine into a plan for achieving optimal health. The seminar will review very simple principles to eating and exercising that can lead to a state of optimal health. Topics covered will include eating a mostly whole-food, plant-based diet and following a consistent and intense exercise program that includes cardiovascular and strength training. The seminar will be led by John E. Lewis, assistant professor, director of research for complementary and integrative medicine, and associate director of the Medical Wellness Center.
Coral Gables campus: Tuesday, October 26 from 12 to 1 p.m. in the McArthur Engineering Annex, Room MEA 202.
Miller School of Medicine campus: Thursday, October 28 from 12 to 1 p.m. in the Medical Wellness Center classroom.
