Conflict of interest seminars and training available

Faculty and staff are strongly encouraged to learn about the University of Miami’s conflict of interest (COI) policy by attending an upcoming seminar or by setting up a training session for their department/unit. For more information on bringing a workshop to your facility or to invite a compliance representative to your faculty meeting, contact Lory Hayes, associate director of the Office of Research Compliance, at 305-243-5036 or [email protected].

The seminars are an excellent opportunity to learn about the process for identifying potential COI, provide feedback, and review proposed National Institutes of Health (NIH) regulations. Please register for a session on your campus through ULearn:

January 19: 1 to 2 p.m., Dominion Tower, 12th-floor Large Conference Room (Miller School campus)

February 16: 2 to 3 p.m., Flipse Building, Room 502 (Coral Gables campus)

March 21: 1 to 2 p.m., Clinical Research Building, Room 989 (Miller School campus)

April 27: 10 to 11 a.m., Flipse Building, Room 502 (Coral Gables campus)

June 3: 1 to 2 p.m., Rosenstiel Seminar Room (Rosenstiel School campus)

Contact the Office of Research Education & Training at 305-243-5092 or [email protected] for details about the scheduled training sessions, or visit http://uresearch.miami.edu/coi for more information on COI in research.
