The American Management Association (AMA) will hold a joint meeting of its two councils, the Technology, Innovation, and Manufacturing Management (TIMM) and Information Systems and Technology (IST), on February 13 and 14 at the University of Miami, hosted by the College of Engineering; Daniel Berg, Distinguished Research Professor. President of the AMA, Edward Reilly, will preside, and the meeting will be chaired by Charles Craig, vice president of science and technology and director of administration for Corning, Inc. AMA members typically meet at an industrial site; this is the first time the organization will meet at a university.
For their business sessions, prestigious members of industry, government, and academia will gather in the new conference room of the new Robert and Judi Prokop Newman Alumni Center and then take part in a demonstration of the College of Engineering’s unique virtual computing system, ViAComp, which will be given by Shihab Asfour, associate dean, professor, and acting chair of industrial engineering. The group will then tour the campus and enjoy a private tour of the Lowe Art Museum.
