Paul Steely White, executive director of Transportation Alternatives, a grassroots organization dedicated to making New York City more bikable and livable, will be in town for Connecting Miami, a two-day event that will include a lecture on the University of Miami’s Coral Gables campus and a bike ride through The City Beautiful.

White’s lecture, “Streets for People: A Bike Advocate’s Lessons from NYC,” will take place on Friday, March 25 at 6:30 p.m. at the School of Architecture’s Jorge M. Perez Architecture Center, Glasgow Hall. Seating is first come, first served.

The second annual Green Mobility Tweed Ride will take place the next day, Saturday, March 26 at 10 a.m., starting at the University Metrorail Station. Join White for a leisurely bicycle ride through historic Coral Gables, with a stop for a free brunch, raffle, and prizes. RSVP via the Green Mobility Network Facebook page.

Hear how New York reinvented itself as a bike-friendly city. Learn what makes better streets for cyclists, pedestrians, and transit users. Get involved in planning Miami’s transportation future. The lecture and bike ride are free and open to the public. For more information visit www.arc.miami.edu, www.greenmobilitynetwork.org, or www.transitmiami.com.
