The new Healthy ’Canes Employee Clinic will provide faculty and staff convenient access to quality health care—and help save them money. A $10 copay is required to visit the clinic, which is located in the Professional Arts Center, Room 708, on the Miller School of Medicine campus. The clinic will open on Monday, April 4, and a grand opening event, where attendees can tour the facility and enjoy healthy snacks and giveaways, will take place on Tuesday, April 26 at 10 a.m.

After reviewing hundreds of name suggestions, the Employee Health Clinic naming committee chose Healthy ’Canes Employee Clinic as the winning name. Congratulations to Letitia Fisher, who is the lucky winner of an iPad. Since there were several employees who submitted this name, the first one received was chosen as the winner. Runners-up Arianne Balarezo and Krystal Murphy won iPod Shuffles.

The Healthy ’Canes Employee Clinic is a new UM Well ’Canes benefit that offers faculty and staff convenient access to UHealth medical services for common illnesses that can happen at any time but until now may have required an urgent care or scheduled doctor’s office visit. Walk-in visits are accepted and cost $10. The clinic is staffed by nurse practitioners, who are supervised by UHealth physicians. A second location will open this summer on the Coral Gables campus in the McKnight Building.
