Flexible Summer Workweek Begins June 10

The summer months are around the corner, and the University is pleased to again offer the annual flexible summer workweek program. From June 10 through August 4, Coral Gables campus employees may work a modified schedule—the same number of hours each week over fewer days.

“The program is so convenient,” said Daniella Louis, development data clerk at University Advancement. “I had Fridays off, so I had more time to study.”

Employees who participate find that the extra time provides them with the flexibility to take care of a variety of personal needs, from errands and exercise to schoolwork and vacations.

“I’m more productive during the week because of the flex schedule,” said Louis.

Flexible workweeks can help reduce commuting costs and improve overall work/life balance—a key component of the University’s wellness philosophy. The program also provides an excellent opportunity for employees to spend more time with their families and take advantage of extended weekends.

Additional information about the program is available at www.miami.edu/hr. Interested employees should submit the flexible schedule request form to their supervisor for consideration by May 20.
