First impressions are critical. A strong Specific Aims page can make or break your National Institutes of Health grant. Researchers who are thinking about submitting a proposal for the upcoming NIH deadline can have their Specific Aims reviewed by two to three senior colleagues with successful NIH experience (via funding and/or study section participation) during a speed mentoring event. There will be two opportunities to participate: Thursday, August 25 and Thursday, September 8.
Speed mentoring is a fun, proven method to quickly get feedback from several expert colleagues and find the appropriate assistance for your research interests and career stage. To participate, please click to register and upload your Specific Aims (limit one page) by August 12. To serve as a mentor, please register by August 19.
This program is co-sponsored by the Miller Office of Research and Scientists and Engineers Expanding Diversity and Success (SEEDS), a pan-University initiative established to orchestrate grass-roots efforts to study and improve the research climate. The initiative is funded by a National Science Foundation Advance grant to SEEDS and the University of Miami provost. A social hour will follow the mentoring sessions.
