530

The designs of 13 of Florida’s best young architects will be showcased at a special exhibition at the University of Miami’s School of Architecture. “13 Young Architects in Florida” will be on display October 5 – 30 at the Jorge M. Perez Architecture Center on UM’s Coral Gables campus.

The exhibition features drawings, models, and digital material from new and established talent in Florida and is curated by the architects themselves, all of whom are 40 years of age or younger. The 13 architects were selected by a panel of their peers and a noted architecture critic/author after submitting portfolios of their work.

A panel discussion and reception will be held on the exhibition’s opening night, Wednesday, October 5, starting at 6 p.m. in the Jorge M. Perez Architecture Center. Panelists will include James Cornetet (Process Architecture), Michael Halflants (Studio for Modern Architecture), Nikolai Nedev (NC-Office), Carie Penabad (Cure & Penabad Architects), and Stefan Horner (Herzog & De Meuron). The exhibition, panel discussion, and reception are free and open to the public.
