The Counseling Center is seeking new faculty and staff members for its suicide prevention outreach program, Lifeguards. Attend an informational breakfast on Friday, April 27 from 9 to 11 a.m. in the University Center, Room 237, to learn more about the program. Jackie Rosen, executive director and CEO of the Florida Initiative for Suicide Prevention, will speak and provide “Suicide Prevention, Intervention, and Postvention” training. The presentation will feature statistics about suicide in the U.S. and Florida, suicidal warning signs, advice on helping someone who is suicidal, and what to do to help an individual or community after a suicide.
