In Celebration of Food

    The University of Miami’s Well ’Canes Marketplace took on a special meaning last Wednesday as local vendors sold tasty—and healthy—treats as part of Food Day activities on the Coral Gables campus. Organized by the Office of Civic and Community Engagement, Food Day events also included a talk by an economist on “How to Scale up the Local Food Revolution through Local Investment,” a fair featuring organizations that focus on sustainability, and a screening of Food Stamped, a documentary addressing the challenges of eating a healthy, well-balanced diet on a food stamp budget.
