The Caribbean Literary and Cultural Studies Program in the College of Arts and Sciences will host a reception for the debut of the 10th anniversary volume of Anthurium: A Caribbean Studies Journal at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, November 20, at the Lowe Art Museum, 1301 Stanford Drive, Coral Gables. Sponsored in part by the Department of English, the reception will feature a reading by Oonya Kempadoo, author of Buxton Spice, Tide Running and All Decent Animals.
This special edition of Anthurium includes a special issue on Intellectual Formations, with Donette Francis, associate professor of English, as editor. The journal also features the work of UM professor Patricia Saunders, along with noted writers Gerard Aching, Edward Baugh, Sandra Pouchet Paquet, Paula Morgan, Alison Donnell, and many others.
