Todd F. Ambrosia, associate dean of the School of Nursing and Health Studies, has been elected as a Distinguished The Fellow of the National Academies of Practice for his significant contributions to the health professions. He will be formally inducted on April 5 in Washington, D.C.
Ambrosia was recognized for his contributions by the National Academy of Nursing. Fellows are nominated and judged by distinguished peers to have made significant and enduring contributions in the health professions. Elected Fellows must have an exemplary career of ten years or more, and be committed to inter-professional health care practice.
“I am honored to be recognized by the nursing community for my efforts in preserving relationship-centered patient care and advocacy for nursing education,” said Ambrosia.
The NAP was founded in 1981 to advise Congress and local governmental bodies on the nation’s health care system, and represents ten health care specialties. Its mission is promoting excellence in the practice of health care through inter-professional collaboration, advocacy, research, education, and public policy.
