The first of several projects to improve access and mobility in the Health District was scheduled to begin Monday, January 20, along the exit ramp from westbound State Road 836 to Northwest 12th Avenue. Florida Department of Transportation plans call for closing one of the right lanes to reconfigure traffic flow from the highway to 12th Avenue. After work in one of the two right lanes is completed, the other lane will be closed, but one lane will always be open. Much of the work will be performed at night and on weekends, and portable barrier walls will be put in place to minimize traffic congestion at the work site.  If your commute to work takes you through this area, you may wish to consider an alternate route and allow a few more minutes for travel time.

The next planned roadwork project will begin soon in the 1100 block of N.W. 14th Street, extending east to N.W. 10th Avenue. On the south side of the street across from Dominion Tower, the “Shops at Civica,” a restaurant and retail complex, will soon rise on the now-vacant lot, just east of the Clinical Research Building. There will be utility-related roadwork associated with that construction, and we will provide more detailed information as it becomes available in the coming weeks.
