Ticket distribution begins this week for the Miami Marlins game against the San Diego Padres at Marlins Park

In appreciation of the dedication and outstanding work of its employees, the University of Miami will host Family Night with the Miami Marlins on Saturday, April 5 at Marlins Park in Little Havana. Playing their third season in their new 37,000-seat ballpark, the Marlins will take on the San Diego Padres at 7:10 p.m.

Every regular and contract employee can receive one complimentary ticket and purchase up to two additional tickets for $1 each. Children younger than 3 do not require tickets. Each ticket comes with a food voucher for a hot dog, chips, and a fountain drink or bottle of water.

You must have a valid ’Cane Card (UM ID) to receive your tickets; only one ID card per person will be permitted and you cannot bring anyone else’s ID to purchase tickets for them. You can pick up your complimentary ticket and purchase two more only at one ticket distribution session; you cannot go multiple times. Only cash will be accepted for all purchases. Tickets for the April 5 game will be available while quantities last.

Ticket distribution, which began last week on all campuses, will continue this and next week at different locales. Contract employees must pick up their tickets at the Foote University Green location near the Richter Library. Miller School and University of Miami Hospital employees may pick up their tickets at either the Miller School or University of Miami Hospital distribution sites.

    Pre and Postgame Activities

The game will feature pregame activities for the entire family. Family activities and entertainment will be located on the West Plaza of Marlins Park from 5 to 7 p.m. on Saturday (UM ID required). Pregame on-field ceremonies will highlight UM, including UM employees throwing out ceremonial first pitches.

April 5 also has been designated a “Saturday Spectacular” and will include free postgame festivities with DJ Laz on the East Plaza.

Tickets may be picked up at the following locales and times:

    • Gables One Tower: Tuesday, March 11, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Gables One Tower, Suite 214.
