This lunchtime seminar is offered by the Faculty and Staff Assistance Program (FSAP) for those interested in understanding the positive impact of kindness. Research shows that leaders and co-workers who demonstrate kindness and compassion, however small, but aimed at easing pain, inspire others to act in a similar fashion. These acts strengthen team cohesion and their sense of belonging while fostering loyalty. Furthermore, being kind can make a real difference to the well-being and health of individuals who offer it and receive it. This seminar will review creative ways participants may engage in acts of workplace kindness and will be facilitated by a UM FSAP consultant. FSAP Health and Wellness seminars are offered as part of the University of Miami’s Well ’Canes Program.
