This monthly seminar explores the basic tenets of mindfulness, reviews the significance of mindful living, and guides participants through a mindfulness practice. Being mindful increases engagement with the present moment and allows for a clearer understanding of how thoughts and emotions impact our health and the quality of our lives. This month’s seminar will focus on mindful movement, the practice of using gentle stretching and movement exercises to reduce mental, physical, and emotional stress.
Sponsored by the Faculty and Staff Assistance Program, the seminar will be facilitated by Carol Kaminsky, MA, BC-DMT, NCC, a board-certified dance-movement therapist and a faculty member in the University of Miami dance program. She has taught mindful movement and meditation for stress reduction (MBSR) for more than 20 years.
