Canes.Spirit.DayShow your UM Pride on Wednesday, October 29, by wearing orange and green and joining the Department of Auxiliary Services, Logo Licensing, for the 4th Annual Canes Spirit Day, a fun-filled day that will bring all three campuses to life and offer opportunities to enter photo contests, dunk UM leaders, and learn more about Workday and how to win an iPad mini.

Join the fun on the Foote Green on the Gables campus, at the Schoninger Research Quadrangle on the Miller School campus, and in The Breezeways on the marine campus, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. for prizes, giveaways, food, drinks, photos, and more. Visit Instagram @CanesSpiritDay or miami.edu/canesspirit for more details.

Test your throwing skills by attempting to dunk Brian Blake, vice provost for academic affairs and dean of the Graduate School, Richard Sobaram, director of parking, Christopher Hartnett, director of residence life, Ricardo Hall, dean of student, Larry Marbert, vice president of real estate and facilities, and other special guests in a tank of water at the Foote University Green between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Get one dunk ball for $2, three for $5. Proceeds will benefit the United Way of Miami-Dade.

Learn more about Workday and how you could win an iPad mini by dropping by Workday HR’s Canes Spirit Day table on all three campuses, where Workday experts will answer questions and show faculty, staff, and student employees what the University’s new system for HR and payroll will look like in 2015. They’ll also have hands-on demonstrations of a series of Employee Self-Service (ESS) functions, such as how to view your payslips, update your emergency contact information, request time off, and more. (For more information on ESS in Workday, click here. For the latest project information, visit the Workday HR site.)
