The Patti and Allan Herbert Wellness Center offers an assortment of group classes including reformer Pilates; meditation; cooking; CPR and First Aid certification; and instructional classes in dance, martial arts, tennis, and youth and adult aquatics. Class registration, which is available to members and non-members, is open now.

Registration closes on September 9 for reformer Pilates and September 14 for dance, martial arts, tennis, and aquatics. Beginning September 9, the first day of instructional classes—dance, martial arts, tennis and adult aquatics—is free for members and non-members, and no registration is required for attending the first free class.

Dive into an aquatics class starting at the beginner level and culminating at the master level, or challenge yourself with reformer Pilates or tennis classes offered at every skill level. Put on your dancing shoes for barre, salsa, and samba dance classes offered at various times throughout the week.

“Our fitness and wellness classes cater to individuals of all skill levels,” said Michelle Kasparian, assistant director of group exercise and community classes. “Trying out different classes during the free trial period will help determine which one is best suited for you.”

Registration for wellness programs, including meditation, cooking, and emergency care courses, is on a rolling basis. Classes are offered throughout the semester, with the first CPR certification course on September 9. Visit miami.edu/wellness for full class schedules.

The Herbert Wellness Center is celebrating 20 years of defining wellness for the University of Miami community and will mark its anniversary with several special programs and events throughout the year.
