Scientists from all UM campuses and elsewhere are invited to present their research at the 24th Annual University of Miami Neuroscience Research Day, which will showcase and promote neuroscience in South Florida at the Miller School of Medicine campus on Friday, November 20.

Through the annual Neuroscience Research Day, the multidisciplinary and interdepartmental Neuroscience Graduate Program provides a venue for neuroscientists to share ideas, find collaborators, and develop their network. So share this information with your colleagues and help spread the word to graduate and undergraduate students, postdoctoral fellows, and faculty from UM and other South Florida universities.

The day will begin at noon in the Lois Pope LIFE Center’s seventh-floor auditorium with a special lecture, “Social Cognition, the Amygdala, and Autism,” by Ralph Adolphs, professor of psychology and neuroscience at the California Institute of Technology.

A poster session will follow from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. on the Schoninger Research Quadrangle, adjacent to the Lois Pope LIFE Center. Students, faculty, postdoctoral fellows, and scientific staff from UM and other South Florida universities engaged in neuroscience research are invited to present their neuroscience research, with a 250-word limit for the abstract, following these guidelines:

    • Printed posters should be a maximum of 4 feet high and 6 feet wide. Push pins will be provided.
    • Presenters may put up their posters between 11 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. and be on hand to discuss their research from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m.
    • Posters that were displayed at other recent conferences are welcome, as are new posters.

To register or submit an abstract, visit https://fs3.formsite.com/ogps/form158/index.html, but feel free to register and attend without submitting an abstract. The deadline for abstract submissions is Monday, November 2, at noon.
