CORAL GABLES, Fla. (March 4, 2016) — Road and parking lot closures as well as other restrictions will be in effect during the week of the Republican Presidential Debate, which will be held Thursday, March 10 at the BankUnited Center, UM Parking and Transportation has announced.
Here’s what you need to know:
Overnight Vehicles
Faculty, staff, and students who are going away for Spring Break and planning on leaving their vehicle on campus must not leave it parked in any yellow zone lot. Anyone planning on leaving a vehicle overnight should utilize either the Ponce de Leon Garage or the Mahoney Pearson Garage. Vehicles left overnight in the yellow zone on Wednesday, March 9 and/or on Thursday, March 10 are subject to being towed at the owner’s expense.
Lot Closures
Lot 452 (Pink), lot 501 (Purple), and lot 506 (Gray) will be closed from 6 a.m. on Wednesday, March 9 through 11:59 p.m. on Thursday, March 10. (Please note the blue outline on the map.)
Lots 446, 434N, 435, 436, 425S, 443, 444, 425N (partial) and 446A (blue) will be closed from 6 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. on Thursday, March 10 (Please note the black outline on the map.)
Road Closures
Dickinson Drive will be closed from the intersection of Ponce De Leon Boulevard to the School of Architecture traffic circle from 6 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. on Thursday, March 10. Additionally, Walsh Avenue will be closed from the intersection of Dickinson Drive to the entrance of lot 443 on the same day. These road closures apply to both vehicular and pedestrian traffic. Zip Cars
The Zip Cars normally located in lot 446A (Blue) will be moved to lot 452 (Pink) for anyone with reservations on Wednesday, March 9 or Thursday, March 10.
Please note that because of the Spring Break period (Monday, March 7 through Friday, March 11) color restrictions are lifted during the above periods, and permit holders may use any other available lot except purple and blue.
