The University of Miami is launching a new faculty and staff engagement survey on Monday, October 31 in partnership with Gallup. This will be the first University-wide survey conducted since the summer of 2013.
Since 2013, the University has conducted focus groups and interviews and launched several initiatives to respond to faculty and staff input—including a culture transformation initiative that established a new common purpose and defined our values, leadership expectations, and service standards; new leadership development opportunities; and a revamped employee orientation slated to begin in January. Other initiatives are still under development.
“The engagement survey will provide us with insight into how our faculty and staff are connecting with the University and their colleagues,” said Nerissa Morris, vice president for human resources. “It gives all of us an opportunity to share our thoughts about what matters most, and the data we receive will be actionable.”
All survey results will be maintained under strict confidentiality by Gallup. Analyses will be reported in summary form. Individual responses will never be shared. UM credentials will not be required to access the survey. For more information and a list of frequently asked questions, visit www.miami.edu/2016survey.
