Registration for the Thursday, February 2 Take Our Children to Work Day on the Coral Gables campus is now open through Friday, January 13, space permitting. The event is offered on a first-come, first-served basis to 100 children, ages 8 to 14. The cost is $10 per child and $10 per parent and must be paid by check. Parents are required to fill out the registration and model release forms and deliver them in a timely fashion to Thierry Bien-Aime at the Patricia L. Frost Building (School of Music, North Wing) 5499 San Amaro Drive, Suite 303, Coral Gables, FL 33146, Locator: 7610. Original forms and payment must be received to be registered for the event; emails will not be accepted. The last day to register your child is January 13.
Planned activities include a look into a variety of career fields at the U, encouraging children to explore new pathways to opportunity and success. Gables campus employees are expected to accompany their children to a luncheon from 12 to 1 p.m. at the Shalala Student Center – Grand Ballroom, where they can enjoy a surprise visit by Sebastian the Ibis and other special guests. At the conclusion of the luncheon, parents will return to their offices while their children participate in career activities.
