Fuel Your Body, Train Your Mind at the Herbert Wellness Center

    CORAL GABLES, Fla. (March 8, 2017) – March is National Nutrition Month and the Patti and Allan Herbert Wellness Center is celebrating with several special events. As part of Nutrition Month, the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics is encouraging everyone to “Put Your Best Fork Forward” and discover the best healthy eating style for you. The Herbert Wellness Center is hosting Fuel your Body, Train your Mind week from Tuesday, March 28 through Thursday, March 30, to help all ’Canes find their nutritional fit.

    “How and what we eat is imperative to our health,” says Christina WooChing, wellness program administrator at the Herbert Wellness Center. “There is no best way for everyone to fuel their body. We are here to help the University of Miami community make better and smarter choices about their nutrition.”

    Fuel your Body, Train your Mind week features the following events:

    Healthy Snacks for Recovery
    Tuesday, March 28, 12 – 2 p.m., 5 – 7 p.m.
    Herbert Wellness Center Atrium
    Learn how to create a complete snack to best nourish your body in its recovery after exercise. Healthy Snacks for Recovery is sponsored by Kind Bar.

    Decoding Diets
    Wednesday, March 29, 12 – 6 p.m.
    Herbert Wellness Center Atrium
    There are a lot of fad diets that people join for quick fixes. Find out which guides are best if you are looking to change your eating habits, and learn about diets you’ve tried in the past.

    Ultra Body Workout
    Wednesday, March 29, 5:30 – 6:45 p.m.
    Herbert Wellness Center Centre Court
    Mix up your exercise routine and feel the burn at this total body workout.

    The Truth About Supplements
    Thursday, March 30, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
    Herbert Wellness Center Atrium
    Educate yourself on how supplements truly affect and support your body and training.

    Every bite counts. Even making simple changes to your eating habits and behavior inspire a lifetime of healthy living and wellbeing.
