‘Latin America: Stories That Drive Change’ Seminar Celebrates Photojournalism April 8-9

    Latin America: Stories That Drive Change will celebrate the best in photojournalism from the region while giving visual storytellers the tools and inspiration they need to make the greatest possible impact. Sponsored by the University of Miami School of Communication, The Alexia Foundation, PhotoWings, and the University of Miami Institute for the Advanced Study of the Americas, the seminar will take place Saturday and Sunday, April 8 and 9, at the School of Communication.

    UM alumna Ami Vitale, National Geographic photographer Nikon ambassador, Syracuse University’s Mike Davis, POYLatam founder Pablo Corral Vega, photographer Adriana Zehbrauskas, Time’s Mia Tramz, and National Geographic’s Whitney Johnson are speaking, moderated by University of Miami Professor Rich Beckman. Topics include virtual reality, applying for grants, passion projects, working with media organizations, and more. Talks will be followed by a series of break-out sessions to allow participants to go into further depth on a topic.
