Yoani Sanchez Discusses Women in Contemporary Cuba

    Distinguished Presidential Fellow Yoani Sanchez, an acclaimed independent journalist in Cuba, will discuss “Women in Contemporary  Cuba: Challenges and Opportunities during Times of Change,” at 6 p.m. on Thursday, April 20, with a reception beginning at 5:30 p.m. at the Newman Alumni Center.

    One of four Cuba-themed talks at the University this month, this special presentation, to be conducted in Spanish, will showcase the untold stories of Cuban women in everyday Cuban society. Translation services available on request. For tickets, click here.

    Her presentation follows three Cuba-themed ‘Cane Talks on Thursday, April 13, at 6 p.m. in the UM Fieldhouse at the Watsco Center. The talks be followed by a Q & A from 7-7:30 p.m. Tickets are free, but seating is limited.
