Many faculty members are experiencing an increase in both the frequency and intensity of difficult dialogues in their classrooms. Their ability to engage students and facilitate meaningful dialogue in these moments not only furthers learning, but also can impact student success. The Office of Institutional Culture will host a webinar on Tuesday, September 19, from 2 to 3:30 p.m. in the Merrick Building, conference room 318, with expert presenter Kathy Obear. The co-founder of the Social Justice Training Institute, Obear has more than 30 years of experience in organizational development and training specializing in inclusion, team and organizational effectiveness, conflict resolution, and change management. She will explain how to better navigate difficult dialogues and conflict in the classroom in order to maximize learning outcomes and create inclusive classroom environments.
