President Julio Frenk will host two open houses this week where members of the University community are invited to meet new University and student leaders and learn more about the people and exciting initiatives that are “Moving the U Forward.”

The University’s new executive vice president and provost, Jeffrey L. Duerk, the new dean of students, Ryan C. Holmes, and the new deans of the School of Business Administration and School of Nursing and Health Studies, John Quelch and Cindy Munro, will be on hand at both receptions, one at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, September 6 at the Miller School of Medicine, and the other at 4 p.m. on Thursday, September 7 on the Coral Gables campus.

Also in attendance at both sessions will be Jacqueline A. Travisano, executive vice president for business and finance and chief operating officer, and Edward Abraham, dean and chief academic officer of the Miller School and physician executive of the University of Miami Medical Group. Student leadership from the respective campuses also will be in attendance.

Faculty, staff and student are welcome to attend either reception and are encouraged to stop in for some food, fun, and a chance to give some of the newest members of our community a true ’Canes welcome, and learn how together we are Moving the U Forward.
