elearning-largeAs a result of the University’s Engagement Survey and feedback from faculty and staff, professional development offerings have expanded to include a library of online courses, live events, books, and videos. Beginning Monday, November 13, faculty, staff, and student employees will have the opportunity to enroll in:

    •  Interactive, live events hosted by renowned thought leaders and experts, such as Angela Duckworth (True Grit: The Science of Success)
    • 2,000 professional development courses in management, communication, leadership, desktop skills, and more
    • 100,000 online books and videos

The resources above are accessible in ULearn, the University’s learning management system, and developed by Skillsoft, an innovative leader in eLearning and professional development resources. The ULearn homepage will be enhanced with a new look that includes shortcuts to featured trainings, and other resources directly from the homepage to provide easier access to courses and resources. Additionally, employees will be able to track their course completions in their ULearn transcript as they do now.

“The addition of the Skillsoft courses in ULearn will virtually assist our people with their own skill building and knowledge development, at their own pace,” said Greg Brenner, executive director for Talent and Organizational Development. “Now learning can happen virtually anywhere, individually or in teams, within departments to increase engagement and growth.”

The expanded catalog compliments additional online professional development resources available to employees such as Lynda.com. Employees now have two great options for online personal and professional development.
