Emergency Notification Network Test on November 30

    ennThe Office of Emergency Management will conduct a full system test of the Emergency Notification Network between 10:45 and 11 a.m. on Thursday, November 30. This federally required test will include the activation of the following communication methods:

    • SMS Text Messages to Cell Phones
    • Voice Calls to Cell Phones
    • Email
    • Emergency Information Hotline (1-800-227-0354)
    • University of Miami Website Banners
    • Emergency Preparedness Website: www.prepare.miami.edu
    • Emergency Preparedness Facebook: www.facebook.com/umiamienn
    • Emergency Preparedness Twitter: www.facebook.com/umiamienn
    • IP Telephone Broadcast
      • Gables Campus & CSTARS – Screen Text & Public Address via Speakerphones
      • Medical Campus – Screen Text Only
    • Digital Signage (Select Gables Campus Buildings)
    • Public Address (Coral Gables and RSMAS Campuses See List Below)

    The test messages last approximately one minute and will all clearly state: “This is a test of the UMiami Emergency Notification Network. This is only a test.  No further action is required.” Below is the list of areas on the Coral Gables campus covered by the Public Address system.
