Second Annual Symposium on Climate and Health on April 14

    The University of Miami hosts its second annual Symposium on Climate and Health on Saturday, April 14, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science, 4600 Rickenbacker Causeway, Miami. The symposium will bring together researchers and other stakeholders to discuss empirical evidence of the direct and indirect health effects of climate systems, climate change, and extreme weather. Researchers will address:

    Empirical evidence of the direct and indirect effects of climate and/or meteorological conditions on different health outcomes;

    Data and methodologies that support research on the health effects of climate and meteorological conditions;

    Engaging different stakeholders in communicating the health effects of climate and/or extreme weather; and

    Novel approaches to mitigate adverse health effects of climate and/or extreme weather.
