Beginning Monday, October 24, faculty and staff with a valid ’Cane Card may pick up two tickets to Homecoming Concert 2016, which will feature Marshmellow and D.R.A.M on Thursday, November 3, from the Department of Student Activities and Student Organizations in the Shalala Student Center, suite 206. The department is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Due to priority given to current students, ticket supplies to the concert at the Watsco Center are limited.
Alumni also may purchase tickets while supplies last by calling the University of Miami Alumni Association at 1-866-UMALUMS (862-5867) or 305-284-2872.
Also beginning Monday, October 24, students (including law, graduate and medical students) with a valid ’Cane Card who already have picked up one ticket may pick up one additional guest ticket from the Hurricane Productions Concerts table in the UC Breezeway. Students also may pick up tickets in the Shalala Student Center, suite 206.
The concert is for members of the University of Miami community. Tickets are not available for the general public.

CORAL GABLES, Fla. (April 21, 2016) — Call it an annual rite of spring. With classes officially over, a carnival-like atmosphere enveloped the University of Miami campus last Friday as students celebrated the end of spring-semester classes, enjoying a variety of activities at ’Canes Carnival. The daylong event, presented by Hurricane Productions, featured Patio Jams by popular student acts; Star Wars-themed laser tag; carnival rides, food trucks, and giveaways; a concert on the Foote University Green by Kid Ink; and more. The former UM star football player and retired NFL linebacker shared stories from his past and gave advice to students.

Ray Lewis’s greatest moment as a Miami Hurricane wasn’t the 15 tackles he recorded in a game against West Virginia or being named to the All-American team in his sophomore and junior years. It was the simple, uneventful act of stepping foot for the first time on UM’s Coral Gables campus as a newly arrived freshman linebacker from Lakeland, Florida.
Raised in a disruptive environment with drug-related activity all around him, Lewis viewed his arrival at UM as a chance to succeed. “Everything that’s around me presents opportunity, a chance to help my family,” Lewis recalled telling himself. Read the full story
