The Office of Academic Enhancement and the Department of Housing and Residential Life have announced the annual Special Interest Housing (SIH) group application process. Faculty and staff are asked to inform outstanding students who are active, engaged, or passionate about the opportunity to create their own SIH community for 2011-12. SIH provides an opportunity for students united by a common interest, activity, or cause to live together in a themed living-learning environment. In addition to living together, groups receive specialized funding for programs as well as advising and training to assist in the programming and management of the floor. Students interested in creating a SIH community for 2011-12 should visit www.miami.edu/sih to download and submit a group application by Wednesday, February 9. Approved SIH communities will be announced on February 18 and will receive community space in Mahoney, Pearson, or Eaton Residential Colleges.
