The Bill Cosford Cinema presents Mozart’s The Abduction from the Seraglio. Mozart’s exuberant opera masterpiece premiered in 1782 as a craze for all things Turkish, especially the exotic music of Turkey, swept Western Europe. Filmed at the Gran Teatre del Liceu, the opera depicts the tragicomic adventures of two men seeking to rescue the women they love from captivity in a Turkish harem. Admission is $18 for all University of Miami students, alumni, seniors, faculty, and staff. General admission is $20.
