If you are taking a maintenance medication, you must fill this prescription in a 90-day supply at your local CVS pharmacy or through Aetna Rx Home Delivery to avoid an increase in your copay. If you fill your maintenance medication in 30-day supplies or use a pharmacy other than CVS or Aetna Rx Home Delivery, your prescription drug copay will increase by two and a half times after the second filled 30-day prescription.
For example, if you fill a 30-day supply of a Tier 2 maintenance medication prescription at your local retail pharmacy, your copay would be $35 for each of the first two 30-day fills. Your copay would then increase to $87.50 for each additional 30-day fill through the end of the calendar year. If you fill this same prescription in a 90-day supply at CVS or through Aetna Rx Home Delivery, your copay would be $87.50 for the three-month supply, a total savings of approximately $70 over three months. (Aetna HRA participants: Copays and penalties do not apply until you meet your deductible.)
To transfer your prescription to CVS, contact your local CVS pharmacy and request a transfer.

Remember: To take advantage of these savings and avoid an increase in your prescription drug copay, you must request a 90-day supply prescription of your maintenance medication from your physician and fill the prescription at your local CVS pharmacy or Aetna Rx Home Delivery.
