CORAL GABLES, Fla. (April 3, 2014) – The annual SEEDS luncheon with Provost Thomas LeBlanc will take place on Wednesday, April 9, from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Student Activities Center Ballroom, 1330 Memorial Drive, on the Coral Gables campus. Space is limited to 100 participants, who should RSVP in advance.
The luncheon will open with a showcase of SEEDS You Choose Leaders and their projects and will continue with talks by Provost LeBlanc and Graduate School Dean Brian Blake. SEEDS Director Kathryn Tosney, chair of the Department of Biology, will highlight SEEDS endeavors, including the Climate Survey, and talk about future initiatives. The afternoon will culminate with a SEEDS Interactive Theatre skit, presented by SEEDS Theatre Director Jennifer Burke.
SEEDS (Scientists and Engineers Expanding Diversity and Success) is aimed at increasing the representation of women and underrepresented minorities in the sciences. It encompasses the College of Arts and Sciences, the College of Engineering, Miller School of Medicine, and the Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science.
