The Larry O’Brien NBA Trophy will be at the Coral Gables and Miller School ticket distribution events.

The Heat is on. The NBA Champion Miami Heat are once again partnering with the University of Miami to offer a limited number of tickets to an upcoming Miami Heat preseason game. University of Miami faculty and staff who make their 2013 United Way contributions online through myUM by Friday, September 27 will have the opportunity to secure a minimum of two complimentary tickets to see the Miami Heat in action. Each ticket will be accompanied by a food voucher for a complimentary hot dog, chips, and soft drink or bottled water on the night of the game.

Representatives from the Miami Heat will be on the Coral Gables, Rosenstiel, and Miller School of Medicine campuses in early October to distribute tickets for the October 7 Miami Heat preseason game vs. the Atlanta Hawks. The ticket distribution events will take place on:

• Coral Gables campus: Thursday, October 3, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the Foote University Green near the Richter Library.

• Rosenstiel School campus: Thursday, October 3, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the breezeway.

• Miller School campus: Friday, October 4 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the Schoninger Quadrangle.

These ticket distribution events are only for faculty and staff who have made their 2013 United Way contributions online through myUM by September 27. Tickets will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last. You must have a valid ’Cane Card (UM ID) to receive your tickets; only one ID card per person will be permitted, and you cannot bring anyone else’s ID to pick up tickets for them.

Leadership level contributors (1 percent donors) will receive four complimentary tickets and separate ticket pick-up instructions via email.

The Larry O’Brien NBA Championship Trophy will be at the Coral Gables and Miller School ticket distribution events. When you pick up your tickets, you will receive a fact sheet about game-day logistics and special pregame activities at American Airlines Arena.
