Featuring University of Miami President Julio Frenk and Provost Thomas J. LeBlanc, the Seventh Annual SEEDS Networking Dinner will take place on Tuesday, April 5 at the Newman Alumni Center, from 5 to 8 p.m. The evening will begin with a reception gallery of You Choose Leaders and their projects. Guests will have the opportunity to see the inspirational projects led by the You Choose leaders since 2009. Following the reception, SEEDS Director Kathryn Tosney will highlight SEEDS endeavors and talk about future initiatives for the program. The evening will culminate with an Interactive Theatre skit presented by SEEDS Theatre Director Jennifer Burke.

SEEDS (a SEED for Success) is a University-wide initiative that covers all disciplines across all three UM campuses. SEEDS supports diversity and career development and is gradually expanding its constituency, including and beyond the STEM fields. SEEDS uses a policy of inclusion to create and foster an interactive and highly effective UM community. Community input hones resources, such as Interactive Theatre sketches as well as programs in mentoring, career skills, and grantsmanship. SEEDS “You Choose Leadership” awards allow imaginative individuals to develop effective community events and resources. SEEDS aims to institutionalize programs that successfully transform our working environment and support careers and success of our diverse community.

Seating is limited. Please RSVP by Monday, March 28. This event, which is free and catered, is open to all faculty and postdoctoral associates. For more information about the SEEDS program or this event, please contact Marisa Hightower at [email protected].
