The Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center will host a seminar by Lan Wang, research associate in the Laboratory of Molecular Aspects of Hematopoiesis at the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York, on Tuesday, June 26 from 12 to 1 p.m. in the Clinical Research Building, Conference Room 989. “Introspection and Awakening: Japanese Art of the Edo and Meiji Period, 1615-1912,” on view from June 23 through October 21 at the Lowe Art Museum, features 225 mixed media works drawn entirely from the museum’s permanent collection. The Miami Area Geriatric Education Center (MAGEC) is once again offering the opportunity to earn up to seven Continuing Education Units at the next Advances Conference, titled “The Role of Chronic Disease Self-Management Programs in Keeping Seniors Healthy and Safe.” The one-day seminar will focus on the scope and necessity of chronic disease management, the efficacy of evidence-based self-management programs, best-practice community programs, the intricacies of multiple medications self-management, and new strategies for preventing and identifying abuse and financial exploitation in vulnerable elders.
The seminar will be held on Tuesday, June 26 at 8 a.m. at the Hilton Fort Lauderdale Airport, 1870 Griffin Road, Fort Lauderdale.
