39th Annual Women’s Commission Awards Breakfast

The University of Miami Women’s Commission 39th Annual Awards Breakfast takes place on Thursday, March 25 from 8 to 9:30 a.m. in the Hurricane 100 Room at the BankUnited Center. This event had originally been scheduled for March 5, but has been rescheduled.

Hilarie Bass will be the keynote speaker. Bass currently serves as the global operating shareholder of Greenberg Traurig, LLP.  She is also chair elect of the American Bar Association’s Litigation Section, the largest section of the ABA with 77,000 members.  Over her 25-year career, she has successfully represented clients in scores of commercial cases for jury and nonjury trials involving millions of dollars. Bass has been recognized with numerous accolades including South Florida Business Journal Woman of the Year, United Way of Miami-Dade’s Dorothy Shula Award, the United Home Care Claude Pepper Memorial Award and the Jewish Museum of Florida’s Breaking the Glass Ceiling Award.

Reservations and payments made for the original March 5 event will be honored for the new date. Those who made reservations and paid in advance but would like a refund should call Aruna Airan at 305-284-3764.

At the event, the 2010 recipients of the May A. Brunson and Louise P. Mills Awards will be honored. Seating is limited.
