Maintaining a Good Credit Score

Achieving and maintaining a good credit score is an important gateway to many financial freedoms. Offered by the Faculty and Staff Assistance Program, this valuable seminar is geared toward those who are interested in developing a greater understanding of strategies for preserving good credit scores. Kevin Maher of Consumer Credit Management Services will help you discover what it takes to correct bad credit scores and maintain good ones.

Parkinson’s Disease 101

The University of Miami Parkinson’s Disease and Movement Disorders Center will hold a free two-day lecture series that will address such topics as basic neurology, the symptoms of Parkinson’s disease, medications, nutrition and exercise, mind-body connections, sleep disorders, and other important issues related to the illness. The lectures are designed for Parkinson’s disease patients, their caregivers, and allied health professionals who work with this special population. Angela Russell and George Dumenigo of the Center for Parkinson’s Disease and Movement Disorders will present. The lectures will be held on Tuesday, June 8 and Tuesday, June 15 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at The Palace Suites, 11377 SW 84th Street, Miami. Complimentary handouts, parking, and lunch are included. Hiring and Onboarding Talent

Hiring and Onboarding Talent is a highly interactive course with two instructor-led training (ILT) sessions and a computer-based learning (CBL) module. Participants will focus on identifying talent needs in their department, developing techniques to determine ability based on past performance, creating an interview plan, peer interviewing, and developing an onboarding plan for new talent. This is a core requirement for any hiring manager. The session will occur at the Professional Development and Training Office on the Miller School campus.
