Winner of the Grand Jury Prize at the 2010 Sundance Film Festival, Last Train Home is a powerful film about the experience of Chinese migrant works through the eyes of one amazing girl. Filmmaker Lixin Fan travels with one couple who have embarked on this annual trek for almost two decades. Like many of China’s rural poor, the couple left behind their children for grueling factory jobs. Their daughter Qin—now a teenager—both bitterly resents their absence and longs for her own freedom. Stephen Brooke, internationally recognized as one of the world’s leading architectural photographers, will show the work of his students in the Architectural Photography Student Exhibition in the Jorge M. Perez Architecture Center Irvin Korach Gallery from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, November 15 through Friday, November 19. On Tuesday evening, November 16, an exhibition gallery walk and reception will be open to students, faculty, and the public from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Korach Gallery.
