Witold Rybczynski, prominent architect, educator, and author, will speak on his new book, Makeshift Metropolis: Ideas About Cities, on Thursday, February 3 at 6 p.m. in the Jorge M. Perez Architecture Center, Glasgow Hall. Holder of the National Building Museum’s Vincent Scully Prize and the Seaside Prize, Rybczynski serves on the U.S. Commission of Fine Arts. His essays have appeared in The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, The Atlantic, and The New Yorker. He has written 15 books and is the Martin and Margy Meyerson Professor of Urbanism at the University of Pennsylvania.
