College of Engineering Distinguished Speaker Series: Science, Engineering, and Medicine in the New Century

Shu Chien, inaugural holder of the Y.C. Fung Endowed Chair in Bioengineering at the Jacobs School of Engineering at the University of California, San Diego, will present “Science, Engineering, and Medicine in the New Century” on Monday, March 7 from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. at the McArthur Engineering Annex, Room 202, as part of the UM College of Engineering’s Distinguished Speaker Series.

Chien, who is a member of the National Academy of Engineering, the Institute of Medicine, and the National Academy of Sciences, will speak on the analysis and synthesis of information generated by sequencing the human genome and the role of science, engineering, and medicine in the advancement of health and quality of life.
