Psychology professor Edward Green passes away; funeral arrangements announced

Edward Green, an associate professor of psychology who joined the UM faculty in 1989, passed away last week after a long battle with metastatic cancer. The funeral service will be held Friday, June 11 at 11 a.m. at Temple Israel of Greater Miami, 137 NE 19th Street, Miami. There will be a reception following the service at Green’s home, 1220 Andora Avenue, Coral Gables. In addition, the family will be receiving friends and visitors at the home on Sunday, June 13 from noon until 8 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Undergraduate Neuroscience Program at the University of Miami. Donations will be used to create the Edward Green Fund, which will support fellowships and research in neuroscience. Checks should be made out to the “University of Miami,” but please indicate on the check that it is “in the memory of Ed Green.” Mail checks to Richard Williams, Department of Psychology, University of Miami, P.O. Box 248185, Coral Gables, FL 33124. For more information, call 305-284-2988.
