Researchers and their designated HIV planner or policymaker are invited to attend the upcoming Project SHARE (Sharing HIV/AIDS Research Efforts) seminar, “HIV Does Not Cause AIDS: Why We Should Care about AIDS Denialism.” Project SHARE represents a collaborative effort between the NIDA-funded University of Miami Developmental Center for AIDS Research (D-CFAR), the Miami-Dade County Health Department, and the Broward County Health Department. Through a series of seminars, the initiative aims to strengthen the linkages between HIV/AIDS researchers and practitioners within the South Florida community.

The upcoming Project SHARE seminar will be facilitated by Seth Kalichman, who recently published the book Denying AIDS: Conspiracy Theories, Pseudoscience, and Human Tragedy, the royalties from which are donated to buy HIV medications in Africa. Kalichman is a professor of social psychology at the University of Connecticut and the editor in chief of the journal AIDS and Behavior.
