The Bascom Palmer Eye Institute will present grand rounds on Thursday, July 28 from 7:30 to 9 a.m. in Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, Room 1301, first floor. Ophthalmology residents and fellows will present interesting or unusual cases. The University of Miami Leonard M. Miller School of Medicine designates this educational activity for a maximum of 1.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit. This lunchtime seminar, offered through the Faculty and Staff Assistance Program (FSAP), will review money-management techniques that participants can use to regain control of finances and spending habits. Learn how to create and use a successful budget and plan for a successful financial future. Bill Plough, certified personal finance counselor with Consolidated Credit Counseling Services, will facilitate the seminar. FSAP Health and Wellness seminars are offered as part of the University of Miami’s Well ’Canes Program.

The University of Miami School of Architecture presents “La Habana,” an exhibition of photographs by Victoria Montoro. The exhibit will be on display from July 7 to August 12, Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Korach Gallery of the Jorge M. Perez Architecture Center. A reception will be held on Wednesday, July 13 from 6 to 8 p.m. The reception is free and open to the public.
Cuban–born Victoria Montoro left Havana in 1961 and returned for the first time in 2008. The daughter of a former political prisoner, she calls the trip the most important of her life. It was a time for her to reconcile her memories from those invented ones or imagined ones acquired through the years. This body of work reveals how the buildings in La Habana have endured.
