Psychiatry Grand Rounds: Panic Disorder: Is it a Mental Disorder?

The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences will host grand rounds on Wednesday, June 16 from 12 to 1:30 p.m. at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, Retter Auditorium. Giampaolo Perna, chief of the Department of Clinical Neuroscience at San Benedetto Hospital, Como, Italy, will present on “Panic Disorder: Is it a Mental Disorder?” Upon completion of this lecture, participants will be able to recognize the somatic features of panic disorder, rethink the role of anti-panic medications, and include somatic interventions in the treatment plans of patients with panic disorder.

The University of Miami Leonard M. Miller School of Medicine designates this educational activity for a maximum of 1.25 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. 1.25 CE credit will be awarded to psychologists and 1.5 CE to social workers, marriage and family therapists, and mental health counselors who attend.
