The 2011 Faculty Learning Community Kick-Off Panel will be held on Monday, January 31 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Whitten University Center, Flamingo Ballroom, second floor. Lunch will be served.

The event marks the start of the third Faculty Learning Community. Attendees will hear from faculty across several disciplines who are using ICT approaches in their teaching. Panelists will discuss examples of creative strategies they are using to enhance students’ ICT literacy.

According to the National Higher Education Information and Communication Technology Initiative, 2004, “ICT literacy is the ability to appropriately use digital technology, communication tools, and/or networks to solve information problems in order to function in an information society. This includes having the ability to use technology as a tool to research, organize, and communicate information and having a fundamental understanding of the ethical/legal issues surrounding accessing and using information.”
