Enter the Employee Health Clinic Naming Competition for your chance to win an iPad

Two new employee health clinics are opening in 2011 at the Miller School of Medicine and Coral Gables campuses, and they need a name.

That’s where you come in. Beginning today, Benefits Administration is launching a naming competition for the new employee health clinics. Submit your ideas by February 7 for a chance to win an iPad and bragging rights.

The new clinics will offer faculty and staff convenient access to UHealth medical services for common illnesses that can occur at any time but until now may have required an emergency room, urgent care, or scheduled doctor’s office visit.

These clinics will save you time and money. If you’re a UM employee, you will pay a $10 copay for the visit. Visits should take no more than 20 minutes, and no appointment is necessary.

The winning submission will be used going forward as the official name of both UM employee health clinics.

To learn more about the clinics and for a list of frequently asked questions, click here.

Are you ready to submit name ideas? E-mail [email protected] with your ideas. The Employee Health Office Committee will select the winning names, and winners will be announced in e-Veritas on February 14. Winners will be invited to the medical campus clinic’s grand opening in late February.

End-of-year reminders for your UM benefits

Faculty and staff enrolled in a 2011 Aetna medical plan will receive new medical ID cards at their home address in early January. Current (2010) Flexible Spending Account participants should keep their WageWorks debit cards. New cards will only be mailed to new participants or to those who have expired cards. Also remember, dependent care FSA participants must spend the money in their account by December 31, 2010.

Keep in mind that payroll deductions for 2011 benefits plans, including medical, dental, and health and dependent care FSA accounts, begin in January 2011. If you have any questions, e-mail a benefits expert at www.miami.edu/benefits/ask.
