On Saturday, March 13, join thousands of Pap Corps members, their families, friends, and community walkers, all united in support of cancer research at Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, part of UHealth – University of Miami Health System. Hosted by the Papanicolaou Corps for Cancer Research, the Tenth Annual Pap Corps Walkathon and Health Fair will take place from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Florida Atlantic University, 777 Glades Road, Boca Raton. Volunteers should report at 8 a.m.
Last year more than 2,500 participants walked the FAU campus to raise money for Sylvester. The walkathon is an important fundraising and community outreach event, typically raising more than $200,000 a year to fund vital cancer research at Sylvester. For a $15 registration fee, all participants will receive a t-shirt, water, breakfast, entertainment, and access to the health fair. The health fair will feature free screenings (blood pressure, cholesterol, and glucose), a technology tent, an activities tent, and “Ask the Experts” exhibits with physicians and staff from Sylvester/UMHC, Sylvester at Deerfield Beach, and UHealth at Boca Raton. To register for the walkathon, contact Regina Boston at 954-425-8100.
